Frequently Asked Questions

Shapegrams require reading, problem solving, and computer skills. With this in mind, Shagegrams are best for second grade and up.

Certainly! Teachers are encouraged to review each Shapegrams document and revise the content to meet the needs of their students.

There are many ways to distribute Shapegrams documents to your students, including Google Classroom, email, and QR code. Your students need a Google account. Read a blog post with tips for distributing to students.

Shapegrams are designed to build upon the skills that students learn and practice in previous Shapegrams. The Scope and Sequence chart can help teachers see what tools and techniques are introduced and practiced in each Shapegram.

While it’s best to go in order, it’s certainly ok to skip some Shapegrams. The chart can help you determine which ones to skip. The chart can also help with differentiation, helping teachers decide which Shapegram to give students with advanced skills.

Membership not only gets you access to all Shapegrams, it also supports the time and effort it takes to produce quality content.

Anyone over the age of 13 can become a member. You don’t need to be a teacher—you just need to be someone interested in learning how to make cool stuff in Google Drawings or Google Slides.

The Google Slides iPad app functions differently than the online version, so the drawing tips and tutorials videos in Shapegrams won’t match what students see in the iPad app. If that’s not a big deal to you, go ahead and give it a try.

Google Drawings does not have an iPad app, however, Google Drawings is fully functional in the Safari browser. A physical keyboard and mouse or trackpad are required for Shapegrams in Google Drawings on iPads.

Most memberships automatically renew yearly until cancelled. You’ll receive an email a week before your credit card is charged for membership renewal. You can cancel anytime by logging into your Account page. If you cancel now, your membership continues until its original expiration date.

If you cancel your subscription, membership access continues until its original expiration date.

A member’s license to distribute Shapegrams expires when membership expires. You continue to have access to all Shapegram documents you’ve copied to your Google Drive, but it’s against Shapegrams Terms of Service to distribute to students after your membership expires. Read the Ins and Outs of Membership.

New Shapegrams are added periodically—usually a few new ones are added yearly.

Membership is meant for one teacher. Rather than sharing a membership, each teacher is expected to have their own membership.

If you are a media, library, makerspace, or technology teacher who works with multiple classes, you need just one membership. However, if students are regularly using Shapegrams while in other teachers’ classes, those teachers should have their own memberships. School pricing is available.

Scroll to the bottom of any Shapegrams.com page and click Manage Account. Sign in and click Subscriptions. You can see if your subscription is active and the date of your next billing.  You’ll receive an email when your membership is close to your renewal date or expiring.
