The Ins and Outs of Membership

Shapgegrams
Four Shapegrams are freely available. No account and no membership is needed to access the ones marked as free. If you and your students enjoy them and want more, you can become a member. Membership is only $35 a year—that’s $2.91 a month

A Shapegrams membership is like a Netflix subscription. You get access to every single video that’s available on Netflix as long as you keep your subscription active. When new shows and movies are added to Netflix, your subscription lets you view them. Instead of shows and movies, a Shapegrams membership gets you access to all the Google Drawings documents that are used to package Shapegrams.

Inside each Shapegrams document is a picture to recreate, an instructional video, drawing tips, and a side activity. Membership gives teachers license to distribute these documents to their students. The license to distribute expires when a teacher’s membership expires. Just like Netflix, if you don’t renew, you can no longer access the membership content on Shapegrams.com.

If a membership expires, I cannot go into a teacher’s Google Drive and erase Shapegrams they may have copies of. However, ethically, without an active membership, a teacher should no longer continue distributing Shapegrams to their students. That would be breaking my copyright, and that would be breaking my heart. I trust educators to do the right thing and model ethical choices for their students.

My hope is that teachers get incredible value from membership. There are over 11 hours of high quality instructional videos. Check out the Scope and Sequence Chart to see the skills introduced and practiced in the growing library of nearly 70 Shapegrams.

Drawing of icons embracing and wavingAs an extra perk, members can download the Shapegrams PDF: Posters about Drawing for Friends. It’s filled with helpful digital drawing tips.

Membership automatically renews every 365 days unless cancelled before the next renewal date. Members get an email reminder a week before their membership is set to renew. While I hope I’ve earned their business for another year, I understand if a member needs to cancel. Members can cancel anytime. Even after cancelling, members continue to have access to Shapegrams.com, and their license to distribute is in effect until their subscription’s end date. Cancellation is easy. Members simply click the Cancel button in the Subscriptions section of their Manage Account page. (Note that memberships paid with purchase orders and School memberships do not automatically renew.)

I have so much fun putting together each Shapegram, and it’s a delight to see students learning from them. I thank you very much for being a member or for considering becoming a member. I appreciate your support.

  1. Hi Tony,
Of course I will be renewing my subscription to Shapegrams! 🙂 My students learned so much about Google Tools during this year! I love that they can work at their own pace because every student gets the chance to do their best work. 🙂 Thank you for creating such a great resource for classroom teachers and students!

  2. This is a great resource! I found your site during the beginning days of the pandemic because I needed something for my elective students (Middle School Multimedia) to be able to do from home. I have continued using it with my students (I now have a Beginning and an Advanced group based on repeaters of my program) and am very happy with the wealth of information that they now have about creating in the Google Drawings platform!

Thank you for all of the work that has gone into perfecting these lessons! Not only have my students learned a lot, but I have too!
